Membership in CONTRALAB is open to anyone with an interest in promoting Contra Dancing.Our membership consists of Callers/Prompters and other leaders from around the world.
We currently have about 30 members from Canada, England, Germany and the United States.
Within the United States our members come from Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The membership consists of leaders from the various genres of Contra Dance, i.e. Modern, New England, Country Dance, Historical Dance, and others.
This broad spectrum of dance leaders and dance styles makes CONTRALAB unique in it's ability to share ideas and incorporate dances from all of these dance forms into our programs.
CONTRALAB Quarterly
Membership includes subscribtion to the CONTRALAB Quarterly in either digital or print format.This Quarterly contains news about the Board Meetings and the current activities of Contralab.
It also contains articles of interest to those who call contra dances.
These articles are compiled by the editor from material submitted by the members.
Several of the pages available under Caller Resources came from Quarterly articles.
For those who have a library of back issues, the Quarterly Index page has a sortable index of the dances published in the Quarterly since 2013.
Joining CONTRALAB
Anyone interested in membership may contact the financial officer for membership application and information about dues and more.As of 2019 the dues were set at $25 per year. The financial year begins in July.
However, payment of dues for the 2020-2021 year was suspended due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
